Diana Grant
The landscapes I am drawn to are wide open spaces where people have left a mark. My eye goes to the distant horizon and never fails
to impress me with its variety of shapes and color contrasts. I compose on paper, then start on the canvas with the goal of creating a
visual memory of the atmosphere of being there.
When developing a painting, I consider color, texture, form and proportion. I enjoy using accents of contrasting colors and leaving
lots of “air” in the painting to give the eye a chance to rest. Achieving an intriguing balance of all of these elements is my goal. I work using brush, palette knife, and rag.
